The best museum in Dubai: description, advantages and review

For people coming to Dubai, a variety of recreational and entertainment opportunities are provided. There are many establishments where you can not only have a good time, but gain new knowledge and impressions.

One of these objects is the Museum of the future Dubai.

Main characteristics

The name Museum of the Future was not chosen for the object in vain. The initiator of its creation, the ruling Sheikh of the emirate Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is known for his innovation and striving for the future. The image of Dubai as a center for the development of new technologies will be helped by the presence of such a museum.

Construction began in 2016 and lasted five years. It took another year to design the exhibition, after which the museum was opened to visitors in 2022. Among the main topics it is worth highlighting space exploration, medicine and improving human health, bioengineering, and ecology. Children are offered interactive exhibits that increase interest in mathematics and natural subjects.

Architect Sean Killa conceived the exterior in the form of a toroidal object with smooth outlines, so that the façade would symbolize the aspiration to the future; inside, it would create a volumetric space without supporting columns or partitions, giving the interior a futuristic look.

Among other features of the museum, it is worth highlighting the fact that it receives all its energy from solar panels located on the external surfaces of the building. The façade is lined with metal tiles, which were processed with high precision by robotic systems. The museum has created a water circulation system, where part of the wastewater is reprocessed and put back into economic use.

In most cases, the exhibition is interactive in nature, which implies the possibility of its interaction with visitors.

Location and visit

The museum was built in the financial center of Dubai, with metro lines and many other highways going here. It is recommended to use taxis or other types of public transport; parking spaces are limited.

The museum is open from 9:30 to 21:00 and is open to people of all ages. The ticket price is 149 dirhams, for children under 4 years old and persons with disabilities — admission is free. They can also be accompanied by one adult who does not have to pay for the visit.
The ticket must be kept for the entire period of the visit; it indicates the time of entry to the museum.
